A Las Vegas man who was a passenger on a car that was stopped in a red light was shot and killed after being pulled over by police in front of a casino.
Authorities are still searching for the gunman.
Police say the suspect, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, is suspected of shooting at least 64 people and injuring more than 500 more in the hotel.
The gunman, who killed himself Monday after a shootout with police, had planned to use his own vehicle to escape police and then open fire on a crowd at the Route 91 Harvest music festival, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
Paddock killed himself at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on Monday.
He is suspected in the deaths of 58 people and wounded more than 5,000 others.
